Product Abstract: Cinnamomum zeylanicum is originally from Ceylon, now known as India. The tree grows to 20 meters in height and is an evergreen which is long-living. The whole tree exudes a spicy smell. Cinnamon is one of the oldest known spices. The tree is cultivated in Seychelles and Mauritius as well. When the tree is 6-8 years old, the bark is removed in strips and left to dry in the sun. The tree can produce bark for up to 200 years. Cinnamon is used extensively in the food industry as well as soaps and deodorants Cautions: Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.
